Guest Speaker - Dr. Jennifer Wimbish
Dr. Jennifer Wimbish, daughter of Mrs. Janell Butler and the Late Louis Butler, is a 1970, graduate of Calhoun High School.
During her approximately forty years in academia, Jennifer’s career led her to become the first African American President of Cedar Valley Community College.  
Recently, Jennifer published her first book, “Leadership Wisdom For All Generations.”  In it she relates many leadership lessons lived out by key mentors and leaders in her life, including many from Port Lavaca.
The list of accolades, awards, and accomplishments of Jennifer’s career is far too long to mention here, just know that she has been highly recognized for giving back to the communities around her. 
  Dr Wimbish holds:
  1.  Doctorate in higher adult education from Michigan State University (MSU),
  2. Master’s degree in guidance counseling from Texas A&M Kingsville,
  3. Bachelor’s degree in history education from Hampton University.
     
      Jennifer is married to Attorney Michael Wimbish. They have one son, Michael Jr., and 4 grandchildren.
Rotarian of the Week - Raymond Butler

Raymond Butler is a life-long resident of Calhoun County, growing up in Point Comfort and graduating from Calhoun High School, and later Texas A&M. He has spent his career in “All Things Marine” on the Gulf Coast. After a brief time at Union Carbide, he founded his own marine towing company, worked for two major barge lines, ran the Gulf Intracoastal Canal Association, and founded a small barge line. Today, he continues to operate his marine consulting business for several clients along the Gulf Coast. Raymond has one daughter, Tiffany.. He loves to fly airplanes and helicopters, build things. He enjoys the outdoors and being on the water.
