Rotarian of the Week
Scott Hollingsworth

Scott is a native Houstonian; his background includes a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech and Drama from
Abilene Christian University, a tour of duty in the U. S. Army,
and various positions with Gulf Oil Corporation including
District and Regional Sales Manager. With the
merger of Gulf and Chevron, he took early retirement to
follow his life-long passion for magic. After working his
magic on cruise ships, the opening of Magic Island in
1984, Houston’s 5-star dinner theatre, gave him the opportunity
to further pursue his childhood dream. He
served as Magic Island’s Resident Magician and Director
of Entertainment until Hurricane Ike closed Magic Island
in 2008.

He is our Rotary 5930 Area #1 Assistant District Governor,
serves on the Board of Directors of the Port Lavaca United
Way and as President of the Cape Carancahua Water Supply
Corporation Board of Directors.

Although he and his wife Judy reside in Cape Carancahua,
he maintains an office in Houston as headquarters for his
numerous magic performances and speaking engagements.
